This work was composed for Euphonium star David Thornton to play at the RNCM festival of brass in 2010. Written for brass quintet with Euphonium soloist it is a florid exploration of the sonic possibilities of the unusual instrumentation..
The E.S of the title is Esbjorn Svennson, perhaps Swedens most famous ever jazz pianist (and my favourite musician ever) who tragically lost his life in 2008.
