This work was originally commissioned by the the Forre Musikkorps brass band in Norway and used as a ‘test piece’ in a brass band competition.
The work is in 3 continuous movements and is a story about a mythical stone near the mountain of Valhast in Norway. A little girl called Siri was looking for cows and gets lost in the mist near the mountain, eventually her mother, Dordi found her dead and cried next to her and ever since that has been the name of the stone.
This piece is ideal for a young or lower division band looking to push themselves in a concert or competition.
